The Finnish team comprises of Satu Niskanen and Annikki Arola.

Satu Niskanen is Occupational Therapist, Master of Health Sciences and Doctoral Researcher. Satu’s study aim is effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of reablement in home care for older adults. Satu does research at the T (TUNI), Finland. Satu is CEO of a private non-profit company at Voimin Oy. The company’s goal is to develop the rehabilitation of the elderly people. Satu is also a researcher at The Rehabilitation Foundation. A particular area of interest relates to cost-effectiveness of rehabilitation.

Annikki Arola, PhD and principal lecturer in occupational therapy at Arcada UAS in Helsinki. Her research focuses on health and well-being in the aging population. She is particularly interested in solutions on how health in everyday life can be promoted, maintained, and supported among older persons in society. Annikki Arola has been part of multidisciplinary research centers such as Ageing and Health, AGECAP, and the Centre for person-centered care, GPCC, at the University of Gothenburg. She is also a member of the SWEAH Alumni Interdisciplinary Network, SAIN, whose primary purpose is to create a base for long-term research on aging through interdisciplinary collaborations.
